Well, like the title says, this is the first entry of the new journal. I didn’t much like serendipity. In addition, I wasn’t very good at updating.
Hopefully in the future, I will update more. And I also plan on taking some pictures.
Well Here I am, behind already. So lets get caught up, shall we?
Day before yesterday I went sledding. Fell on my ass a few times but it was fun. *Note to self, ice is fast.
Yesterday I went to the first of many meetings for Imagine Columbia’s Future. This is a really cool effort, that when done, will make Columbia the very best place to live. (It’s already awesome, but it could be better). Too show how full it was, pictures will be forthcoming as soon as I can get them off of my phone.
Update: Here are the promised pictures.
I had a good time and I think we are really going to impact this city.
Not much happened of note today. So there. 😛
Two Non-Sequiturs in a row. You have to be talented to do that.
Out of nowhere: “HyVee is open 24 hours.” Followed by “I only have to work 6 hours tomorrow.”
It makes sense. Trust me.
Hmm… Maybe I should sleep at some point? Oh well. I just finished helping Chelsea install and tweak a new theme.
Well. I plan on having a full fledged post soon, but for now, I just want to give an update on my script I’m currently working on.
I am about halfway done. I’ve stored all the previous lottery numbers in a database. Now all I have to do is generate numbers and check them against old numbers using a personal criteria.
I’ll be sure and post when I win! 😉
It’s weird. I’ve been meaning to write here fairly regularly, but I never seem to have anything to say. I wanted to write after I went to the Three Days Grace concert, but never felt like I could say anything besides that they were awesome. Hmm…
Whenever I get them off my phone and edit them for sound and quality, I’ll post some vids from the concert.
Okay, note to self: When configuring something it’s a good idea to start with the defaults.
Somehow when installing the proxy server module for apache, I used code that wasn’t default. The proxy part worked great. The caching, not so much.
Now though it seems to be working swimmingly. I think the main reason it wasn’t caching properly was the fact that I had cacheDirLength set to 1. That results in a limited number of directories available. I changed it to 4 and depth to 4. That should allow a very large number of cached files.
Also. Just a quick note. This is labeled “Chelsea” because I installed the proxy server to help her get her writing done. I’ll leave it to you to figure out how this is accomplished. 😉
Earlier I mentioned proxy woes. Well I ended up using the router’s built in filtering. In the morning, I turn on the filtering so that Chelsea’s computer can’t connect to the internet. Then when she’s finished her writing, I go in and turn it off. Simple.

“Can you tell me how to get,
how to get to Sesame Street?”
