The day the Internet returned!

Well, returned to normal speed.
I decided at the beginning of October that I wanted to go to a breaking bad party. Having only seen a few episodes, I had a lot of catching up to do.
So I watched episodes to and from work and managed to go through my whole 5gig allotment. (luckily it happened October 30th)
Now I’m back on 4G, and I much prefer it over 2G.

Today we played xbox in an senior living apartment building, played civ and watched sports and rocked a baby to sleep.

Good day.

November and Columbia

I should have had this blog post up yesterday. (I’ll just back date it)

I’ve decided to post every day for the month of November.

Friday (which is today, really it is! 😉 ) was good. Kind of bittersweet. Columbia is becoming less of our place every time we visit..

Today we ran errands with Chelsea’s mom and ate at El Rancho. (I forget how good that place is)

Well that’s all I have now. Here is a pic of one of the babies we are visiting.

New Blog Design gets New Pics

As promised here are some new pics to go with the new blog design.  I have a lot more pics than this, but this is what I have after doing HDR magic.

First four are free hand (no tripod) so may be a tad blurry…

And the next four are from July 4th weekend, using a table and a stick for a tripod :).

Good quote

This quote is from a contender in our mayor race this year.  The one I voted for.

A fateful moment was reached when the Columbia Chamber of Commerce decided to recruit and endorse McDavid for mayor. That moment marks the end of the 104 year history of neutrality of the Chamber in local political affairs. If you thought the Chamber was a community booster, a kind of Welcome Wagon or another League of Women Voters, Think Again!

No longer can the Chamber be considered a public service or benevolent organization whose membership is drawn primarily for the business community but whose aims and interests are identical with those of the community at large. With this endorsement its actions will now be evaluated primarily by the criterion of how it benefits the business community and not the city as a whole.

The process by which this endorsement was decided is largely a mystery. This much we know, it was decided by the directors of the Chamber and not by a polling of the membership.  In a stunning display of hubris, a small group of persons at the top decided, without consultation, on what is good for people at the bottom. Did the directors act ultra vires, that is beyond the scope or in excess of their legal power or authority? Whatever internal controls there may be on the activities of the directors, the net effect of their action is a hi-jacking of the good name of the Chamber for purely political ends. Does the membership really want to take the Chamber down this new segregated path?

YATR 0.24

Hello, another trike route:

TrikeRouteTM

So this route is in honor of Knit in Public day. I’m not a knitter but my wife is. (I spin. (And not just on my trike.))

I start at home and go down Rollins to West, basically, then to Stewart to Garth and the Library. I just caught the end of Chelsea’s time there, so I rode from there to the mall, via Ash. And then from the mall home via Fairview and some backstreets and Rollins again.

It was fun hanging out at the mall, I just wish I could have came up with more hooks for the game tomorrow, but I’m sure I’ll think of more as the game comes closer.

It’s been a while but here is another trike route. I was going to go five miles, but I wasn’t really tired so I went 7 Miles of exploring. 🙂

My legs are sore. But it was worth it. I should have more of these since Chelsea’s mom is home now.

Behind Already

Well Here I am, behind already. So lets get caught up, shall we?

Day before yesterday I went sledding. Fell on my ass a few times but it was fun. *Note to self, ice is fast.

Yesterday I went to the first of many meetings for Imagine Columbia’s Future. This is a really cool effort, that when done, will make Columbia the very best place to live. (It’s already awesome, but it could be better). Too show how full it was, pictures will be forthcoming as soon as I can get them off of my phone.

Update: Here are the promised pictures.

Visioning. 2

I had a good time and I think we are really going to impact this city.

Not much happened of note today. So there. 😛
