November 2nd – Seeing a Mizzou game

I got to see a Mizzou game in person today!  It’s about time.  Nik and I had planned to do it a loooong time ago, but it never quite worked out.  I’ve been gone from Columbia for three years and now we got to go.

I also went out to see another new baby today.  Mirriam was very cute.  I have a kind of, well not quite fear, but an aversion to fresh babys…  I’m just so afraid of injuring them…

So I didn’t hold Mirriam, but I have been holding Neal more.  He’s cute.

The biggest thing today was the game.  We (Mizzou) won 31 – 3.  So my plan worked.  I had two weekends to choose from and I chose the one that they won!  It was a little chili, but totally worth it.

No picture today.  I’ve failed to edit pics, but I did take them!

November and Columbia

I should have had this blog post up yesterday. (I’ll just back date it)

I’ve decided to post every day for the month of November.

Friday (which is today, really it is! 😉 ) was good. Kind of bittersweet. Columbia is becoming less of our place every time we visit..

Today we ran errands with Chelsea’s mom and ate at El Rancho. (I forget how good that place is)

Well that’s all I have now. Here is a pic of one of the babies we are visiting.

Cupcakes!

I made cupcakes for Chelsea tonight.

Last year for her birthday, I bought a cake. It was sub par. So I said I would bake her something to make up for it.

We’re doing the elimination diet and today is adding pumpkin. So pumpkin cupcakes!

(and I did it just before her next birthday)

Our altar from the ritual this morning. The important thing to note is the masonry jar on the right. This is filled with our gratitudes. It’s nice to have so many things to be grateful for.

Yule presents. I love giving gifts. It’s kind of selfish, since I get a good feeling from it. Blue is me to her and red is her to me. It looks lopsided, but we both have the same budget. (and i get handcrafted items!)

Grateful – 081012

Filed under: Life — Tags: — ecogeek @ 10:59 pm

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these and I figured that it’s about time, since things are going so good.

Let’s see..  New phone! I’m actually posting this from my new Samsung galaxy s 3.

So I’m grateful for that, the new furniture, the new apartment to put the new furniture in.

I’m grateful that I got to work on a Habitat for Humanity house. It’s hard, but very rewarding work.

I’m grateful that I get to replace Chelsea’s bike tomorrow.

Life is good.

Lincoln

When lincoln found out that black Union soldiers were being shot and/or put into slavery, he issued this executive order:

“It is therefore ordered that for every soldier of the United States killed in violation of the laws of war, a rebel soldier shall be executed; and for every one enslaved by the enemy or sold into slavery, a rebel soldier shall be placed at hard labor on the public works, and continued at such labor until the other shall be released and receive the treatment due to a prisoner of war.”

Useful Script

Filed under: Geek — Tags: — ecogeek @ 2:27 pm

Here is a script that one of my co-workers wrote.  It goes and does something remotely to a set of servers very quick like using children.  This script has inspired me to build children into any script where I am going to do things to a LOT of servers because it will go much crazy fast. Yes, I’m so excited about this script, that it makes me lose my grammar. 😉

Ah. Clients.

A friend got this at work:

“THERE’S A PROBLEM WITH THE DATA!”

“Which data?”

“LOOK AT IT, IT’S WRONG”

“There’s a very large amount of data, is there something specific?”

“WHY ARE YOU BEING SO OBSTINATE”
